Anime streaming big Crunchyroll has partnered with the Media & Leisure Affiliation of India (MEAI) to grow to be the title sponsor for the WAVES Anime & Manga Contest (WAM!) 2025.
As a part of the sponsorship, Crunchyroll has launched a Creator Improvement Grant geared toward supporting rising Indian expertise in anime, manga, and webtoons.

“This partnership with Crunchyroll marks a pivotal second for India’s creator group,” stated Ankur Bhasin, Secretary of MEAI. “By investing immediately in rising artists, Crunchyroll helps flip desires into actuality and giving a robust international platform to Indian voices in anime, manga, and webtoons.”
WAM! is India’s first nationwide initiative centered on selling unique Indian IPs in anime, manga, webtoons, and cosplay. It serves as a key element of the World Audio Visible Leisure Summit (WAVES) 2025, organized by MEAI and supported by the Ministry of Info & Broadcasting, Authorities of India.
