Award-winning manga about 65-year-old novice filmmaker launched in October 2020

The December problem of Akita Shoten‘s Thriller Bonita journal printed the ultimate chapter of John Tarachine‘s Credit Roll Into The Sea (Umi ga Hashiru Endroll) manga on Thursday. The journal will publish a derivative chapter within the February problem in early January.
The manga’s ninth quantity would be the ultimate quantity.
The manga facilities on a 65-year-old lady named Umiko, who’s grieving the current lack of her husband. She goes to a movie show for the primary time in many years, and there she meets Kai, a college scholar majoring in movie. Umiko turns into actually within the viewers’s reactions throughout the movie, and Kai notices. Afterward, Umiko invitations Kai again to her home. When Kai then asks her, “You are somebody who’s occupied with making movies, aren’t you?,” Umiko realizes her emotions. From there, she dives into the world of filmmaking.
Tarachine launched the manga in Akita Shoten‘s Thriller Bonita journal in October 2020. Akita Shoten launched the manga’s eighth compiled e-book quantity on July 17.
Darkish Horse Comics licensed the manga, and can launch the primary quantity on March 3, 2026. Jocelyne Allen is translating the manga.
The manga topped rating for feminine readers within the 2022 version of Takarajimasha‘s Kono Manga ga Sugoi! (This Manga Is Superb!) guidebook, and was #6 within the rating for feminine readers within the listing’s 2023 version. The manga was the ninth highest-ranked manga within the fifteenth Manga Taisho awards in 2022. The manga was nominated for each the twenty seventh and the twenty ninth Annual Tezuka Osamu Cultural Prize in 2023 and 2025.
Tarachine’s Witch of Thistle Fortress (Azami no Shiro no Majo) manga ran in Coamix‘s Comedian Tatan web site from February 2019 to December 2020. Coamix launched 4 volumes for the manga. Titan Comics licensed and launched all 4 volumes for the manga in English.
